Buying a memory foam bed has its advantages. The memory foam mattress reviews have positive things to say about the NASA originated foam bedding, which is supposed to deliver a good night’s sleep while helping to alleviate back pain and more. So what goes into a foam mattress other than high-density foam? How do you know a review will be accurate for you?

To find out for sure which memory foam brand works best for you, it’s important to do your research, but even more important to go to the showrooms and plop down on the beds. Reviews and customer testimonials may be helpful for determining long-term reputation and recent experience using the bed though. Don’t neglect these opinions as trifle. After all, you want a good foam mattress when you buy it, not after you’ve had the chance to learn the hard way.

Consider the following about the foam used in these mattresses:

-High density is good for a durable mattress, Ideally, you want at least three inches of good high-density foam. Be sure your foam brand doesn’t use sand or other fillers.

-Hardness and softness vary, and thorough testing can help determine your level of comfort.

-The dense foam is temperature activated. This is what makes it mold to your body. When testing the bed, give it time to react to your body temperature.

-Check the manufacturer’s warranty. A good foam will have a warranty for several years.

-Quality mattresses are not cheap. Although a wide selection is now available, don’t sacrifice quality for a couple of hundred dollars. If budget is an issue, consider a memory foam mattress topper instead.

Once you purchase your memory foam, be sure to let it air out for a couple of days after it is removed from the packaging. The odor can be very strong, and it may need to be left outside or in the garage until is has finished off-gassing.
