Ways to Make Your Id Badge Less Annoying
If you’ve been issued an identification badge by your employer, you know how frustrating it can be to have one. This annoyance can become even worse if you’re required to wear and display the thing everyday. There’s not much worse than having a plastic badge holder pinned to your shirt as you work away at your desk everyday.
Not only can pinned plastic badge holders be frustrating to wear, they can damage your clothing over time as well. If you’re inserting the badge pin in nearly the same place on your shirt everyday, it won’t take long before you’ll start to notice a nice little hole being formed by the pin. Clipped holders aren’t nearly as bad, but they can still damage clothing when used over time.
One great way to leave this hassle behind is to use a magnetic id badge holder. This type of holder will save your clothing from the wear and tear that pins or clips bring. A magnetic holder also looks much more professional than attaching the holder via pins or clips. With a magnet holder, a magnetic strip is placed on the back of the id badge. Another magnet is placed inside the clothing where the badge is intended to be worn. When these two magnets come into close contact, they’ll hold the id badge tightly in place. The id badge will be displayed just like it would be using a pin or clip, but damage to your clothing will be lessened.
If you prefer not to have the id badge placed on your shirt, you can opt for a neck lanyard. A lanyard is a more comfortable option for many people as it’s not attached to any part of you, but rather, hangs freely around the neck. The id card can then be attached to the end of the lanyard and will be displayed between the chest and stomach areas. A lanyard also cuts the time required to put on and take off the id badge compared to a traditional badge display attached to the shirt.
Both of these options will reduce the frustration that comes along with wearing and displaying an id card. For the small cost of each, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment for added comfort.
